During the recently concluded Sustainable Energy for All Global Forum the Government of Barbados proudly launched the Barbados Energy Transition and Investment Plan. This plan encompasses strategies, policies and investments aligned with achieving Barbados’ clean energy and Net-Zero Emission goals.

These targets are directly tied to Sustainable Development Goal 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy for all and, Sustainable Development Goal 13 – Climate Action.

The ETIP aims to be implementation focused and has benefitted from substantial assessment of the policies and investments needed for the Barbadian energy transition in the following cross-cutting sectors: oil and gas, power, buildings, industry, transport and agriculture.

The identification of the 2030/2035 investment horizon posited in the ETIP also investigates more long-term capital and operational expenditures and the cost-benefits of the proposed interventions.
