Global demand for energy improved in 2021 as the COVID-19 Virus moved from pandemic to endemic allowing a number of countries to relax their restrictions to manage COVID-19. According to the Energy Information Administration, the price of Brent started the year at US$50 per barrel and accelerated to a high of US$86 per barrel.
