The Sustainable Energy Investment Programme (Energy Smart Fund) has been a catalyst for energy efficiency and renewable energy financing in the sector. It has resulted in greater awareness and uptake of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies in the residential and business sectors in Barbados. In this regard, the programme was awarded Best Energy Efficiency Project at the 2017 Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum’s (CREF) inaugural regional CREF Project Awards.
